Shipping Policy

Last updated September 25, 2026

Most jobs start with you sending us a part. Here’s how that works, and how it gets back to you.

Where we ship

We ship within the United States only. If you’re outside the U.S., email us first. We may be able to take your job as a special order, with shipping quoted separately.

Turnaround

Turnaround starts the day we receive your part:

  • Digital STL files: about one week.
  • Printed parts: about 1–2 weeks.

Sending us your part

You pay to ship your part to us, and you must use a tracked service. Keep the tracking number. If you ever need to show that your part reached us, we’ll need that proof of delivery. While your part is on its way to us, it’s in your carrier’s hands: a part lost or damaged in that shipment is a claim with your carrier, which is why insuring it matters.

We’ll email you the shipping address once your quote is approved.

If your part is irreplaceable or discontinued, declare its value and insure it with your carrier. See our Returns Policy for why this matters.

Packing your part

Fragile parts

  • Wrap the part in bubble wrap or foam, with extra around thin edges, tabs, and clips.
  • Use a sturdy box with at least 2 inches of padding on every side, so the part can’t touch the walls.
  • Fill empty space so nothing shifts when you shake the box.
  • For very fragile or valuable parts, put the padded box inside a second box.

Small parts

  • Put small pieces (clips, bezels, knobs) in a sealed zip-top bag so they can’t fall out.
  • Don’t mail small parts loose in an envelope. Use a small box or padded mailer.
  • Keep pieces that belong together in the same bag.

Every package

  • Include a note with your quote number.
  • Leave out anything we don’t need for the job, like mounting hardware, unless your quote says to include it.

Getting your part back

When we ship your part back, return shipping is included in your quote as its own line item, so the total you approve is the total you pay. No surprise shipping charges. We ship returns with UPS, tracked and insured for your part’s declared value.

Oversized parts and international special orders are quoted separately and aren’t covered by the standard included return shipping. A part counts as oversized if the package weighs 15 lbs or more, or if UPS classifies it as oversized (such as a Large Package or Additional Handling surcharge).

Local drop-off and meetup

In the Raleigh area, you can skip shipping. Local drop-off and in-person meetups are available, and we’ll set those up with you after your quote is approved.

If you drop off or pick up locally, you don’t pay for shipping. We’ll leave the shipping line off your quote, or refund it if you’ve already paid it.
